Partners in the Gospel,
We want to begin by simply saying thank you. Because of your prayers, generosity, and belief in the mission of planting a life-giving, gospel-centered church in Columbia, Missouri, King’s Church has crossed the one year mark and has seen over 60 people make a decision to follow Jesus. Lives are being changed, disciples are being formed, and the gospel is taking root in our city. We could not tell this story without you. You are not distant supporters—you are true partners in this work.
As we reached our one-year milestone, the Lord also began leading us into a new season. Our current Sunday night meeting location raised rent to over $10,000 per month, which prompted us to begin praying earnestly for wisdom and provision. Rather than reacting in fear, we committed to seeking the Lord together and asking Him to provide a long-term home for King’s Church. We are grateful to share that God answered those prayers. The Lord opened the door for a more affordable space to lease directly across the street from the University of Missouri campus, located at: 904 Elm Street Columbia, MO 65201.
This is a significant step forward for us. Being positioned in the heart of the city—within walking distance of three college campuses—gives us a unique opportunity not only to strengthen the church, but also to launch and grow campus ministry from this location. Downtown ministry will come with challenges, but we believe deeply that it matters to have a faithful, gospel-preaching church present in the center of the city. To give some context, FBC two blocks away just had a drag show for children, every Thursday night thousands of students party like its Spring Break, and there has been a consistent problem with shootings. This is a place that needs the Gospel.
Over the next six months, we will be working through demolition and construction, with the hope of moving into the space by this summer. We are actively raising support for this project and would love for you to prayerfully consider continuing—or deepening—your partnership with us. Looking ahead, we believe this new space could also position us to plant another church as early as next year. Please pray with us for wisdom, leaders, and provision—and consider whether the Lord may be inviting you to partner with us in that future work as well.
